Wise Words: Jean Cocteau

“Style is a simple way of saying complicated things.”
—Jean Cocteau*

No person is a simple individual—we are all complex beings who are complicated beyond our own explanation. Your style is an expression of self. Though you may keep it simple, it speaks volumes about you. Maybe you favor colors, patterns, and patent accents. Maybe you prefer femininity, maybe an androgynous look. Maybe you prefer simplicity in neutrals to keep your mind clear. Maybe you’re a bit like me: simplicity in colors, but heavy metal accents with grunge appeal.

What complicated things does your style say about you?

*Jean Cocteau was a French poet, novelist, designer, artist, filmmaker, and playwright whose friends included Pablo Picasso, Jean Hugo, and Coco Chanel among many other creatives.
